About me
Hola! 👋
I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Systems & Technology at IE Business School. My research is in retail operations, at the intersection of operations management, optimization, and machine learning.
Much of my work focuses on cross-item effects for assortment decisions, particularly substitution and co-purchase. I develop choice models that capture both effects and methods for using them in operational settings.
More recently, I have been exploring learning for operations. I am particularly interested in how agents can transfer what they learn across environments, allowing heuristics to adapt rather than being rebuilt from scratch. I am also interested in how we can guide that learning using existing knowledge instead of asking agents to rediscover the same concepts each time.
I teach machine learning and data analytics across IE’s master’s programs. Starting this year, I am also teaching a new core course, Shaping Futures with AI, focused on redesigning work around AI. My teaching is hands-on, with labs and interactive tools during class.
I completed my PhD in Operations Research at MIT in 2025, advised by Georgia Perakis. Before academia, I spent five years in industry as a data scientist, working on marketing mix and attribution modeling, retail location analytics, and fintech.
